Today is the hottest day of the year here in CT. It is so stinkin hot. I have always loved summer but this summer, I hate it. I am so ready for fall, I can't even explain it. I think it is because this is the first summer that I have not worked the entire summer and have been home to sweat it out all day long. I wonder if the heat is making me feel worse on top of my pregnancy. I wear a ponytail everyday. EVERYDAY! I am tired of ponytails. Enough whining.
D is working today so S and I went to Target for lunch and wandered for 2 hours. I got two new shirts ($5 each!), lipstick and a hair thing that is stupid and I am going to return. They always look so handy in the package. I didn't spend too much for being there so long. Then I was on a hunt for box fans or the fans that are side by side and they blow air in and out. Not at Target, Wal-Mart or Lowes. Somebody suggested Home Depot. Maybe tomorrow.
I think I am going to take S to a high school swimming pool next week. I want to teach him to love water and to swim but the ocean isn't the best teaching place. I want to dunk his head under water and help him learn to hold his breath. I would love to take a swimming class with him. I think that would be a good activity for us. Oh, I have to take him to a high school pool because they don't have outdoor public pools here, just beaches. While beaches are great, they just aren't a pool with a fun slide! I miss that about IA. I could take him to a pool and go down a slide with him. I think he would love that!
I better go relax while he naps!

Fun Weekend
We went camping in Rhode Island. I had never been to Rhode Island. It is very beautiful. It was a last minute decision. Friday morning, D was supposed to go sailing and then we were going to try to camp after that but it was looking impossible. Then, sailing was out because the weather forecast was for thunderstorms and since they were going to go on the open ocean water, it wasn't a great idea. So at 8am, we decided to drive to RI anyway and see if we can find a place to camp. We packed up all our stuff and left by 10. We took the scenic route and drove across RI and started at the farthest point away looking for a camp site. By the time we found one (at the campground we called and they said they have some- surprise!) it was about 1. I am starving, Sage had drank some milk but he was hungry and I was getting to the point that I felt like throwing up I was so hungry. So we went and looked at our campsite which was gorgeous. And headed to find a McDonalds and a Wal-Mart because we hadn't packed any food. There was a Super Wal-Mart about 3 miles away. We bought an air mattress too because we realized we had forgotten ours and a pump. Now, we have two air mattresses! By the time we got back to camp it was 3:30 so we started setting up our tent and stuff. As we are setting it up, it is thundering. But it never did rain the whole time we were there.
We had to go back to Wal-Mart because the pump we bought didn't work and we thought of a few more things that we needed. So we ended up eating at McDonalds for dinner again. Not S, he had good food. At lunch, we tried giving him a chicken nugget and he didn't really like it. I was surprised.
That night, we put S to bed like normal. He is screaming. He stands up in his pack-n-play pulls the window cover down and looks out at us screaming. We should have taken a picture it was so cute. So, we decided to keep him up longer and then take him for a drive to get him to fall asleep. Worked perfectly. I transfer him to his bed and he sleeps. Until after I get ready for bed and enter the tent. He wakes up. By this time, it is after quiet hours (which are strictly enforced) and we are trying to keep him quiet. He falls asleep laying on my chest so I try to move him to his bed again. He sleeps for a little bit (not long enough for me to sleep) and wakes up and the process is repeated. I lost track of how many times this happens but around 1, I can't take it anymore. My back is hurting and I can't get him to quiet down. Another car ride to Wal-Mart with D going in to see if he can find a fan that runs on batteries for white noise- no such luck. We get back to camp, transfer him to bed and all is good until 7:15am. He even slept through 2 car alarms!
Saturday, we head to the beach with beautiful sand and real ocean waves. We took a picnic lunch and had a great time. S even walked in the sand which was a first. He would cry as soon as his feet touched sand and lift his legs. Very funny. He was not appreciative of the water coming up to him and getting his feet wet! Then we headed back to the campsite but stopped for ice-cream. S had fallen asleep before we were out of the parking lot so we drove around some to let him sleep.
That night, we roasted hot dogs and tried a new approach to getting S to sleep. A lot of prayer and a stroller walk. He woke up once, took the rest of his milk, slept unitl 5:45, took another stroller ride and slept until 7. We ate breakfast, packed up and drove home which took one hour and twenty five minuts with S and I sleeping the whole way and a grasshopper clinging for dear life to our front window!
S and I ate lunch as soon as we got home, I promptly threw it all up and laid on the couch the rest of the day. At 7, I went to bed and got up at 7 this morning. D is so great for taking care of S last night, finishing dinner, giving him a bath, playing with him and putting him to bed. He was up at 4:45 so I hope we haven't messed up his sleeping through the night routine with our camping trip!

Boring, Hot Day
It is just another boring, hot day here. I am really tired of this hot weather. I have decided that I want to live where the only seasons are spring and fall. Although, I like winter better than summer. It is just too hot and humid. Enough complaining.
I haven't been sick with my pregnancy. I am tired a lot and sometimes don't feel the best but definitly liveable. Sometimes, I think my I don't feel good times are all in my head and then I run to the toilet and almost puke and think, maybe not.
Last night, we sat on the back porch with our Italian neighbors and ate Hagandaz ice cream. It is our new favorite ice cream and my favorite combination is chocolate and coffee. So good. We enjoy talking with them and as always stayed up too late. It is fun building relationships with people but why is it so hard to share my love for Christ with them? I mean, we say things but most of the time, they are just silent after we say something spiritual. It will be interesting over the next few months. They will go back to Italy next May or June.
Yesterday, I took S to Target and we ate lunch there. I just love Pizza Hut personal pan cheese pizza! He is getting to be such a big boy. He can drink out of a straw so he is always wanting me to share my drink with him. I had diet coke so I didn't but as we were leaving I got lemonade and he really like that! I got him his own cup with a straw too. I still haven't gotten him off the bottle. No one seems too concerned so I guess I'm not either!
Does anyone have the Maclaren Twin Traveller stroller? Any comments about it except that it is expensive? I think that is what we are leaning towards. We aren't going to purchase it until February or March or maybe wait until after the baby is born.
D is thinking about buying an ellipitcal machine and wants to know if i will use it at home. I want to say yes, because I think that I would but I don't want to get blamed if I don't. However, it would sit in our living room staring at me while I watched tv so maybe that would be good incentive. He thinks I would be happier if I was able to exercise more. Happier with my body and happier in general. He is right. I just can't leave the house without Sage and I don't have anyone to watch him. And I don't really like videos. I don't know why.
Enough rambling. Oh, tomorrow, I get to go shopping with a friend and her new baby and I get to go without S! D is going to spend time with him! D worked 90 hours last week so is taking Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday off! We might be going camping. Hopefully, it won't be too hot! And yes, I did say friend! I met her through D, he works with her husband. We actually met them for lunch when we came to visit to see if we wanted to move here. She had a baby about a month ago.

It's Official
I went to the doctor today. I am 6 weeks pregnant and due March 25. My first appointment is August 31. Crazy. We will have one baby born at every school Drew has attended! Hopefully, this is the last school but not the last baby!
More Changes
The biggest change of the summer is that by next summer, we will have another baby! Yes, I am pregnant again. I am guessing that I am about 5 or 6 weeks along. We are very surprised but excited. I haven't found a midwife yet so I haven't been to the doctor to get the official test.
I took Sage to his one year appointment yesterday and he is 30 inches and weighs 23 pounds. He is in the 75th percentile for height and 60th for weight. His head however, is in the 95th percentile! He screamed for the shots and again when they pricked his finger. It will be interesting taking him at 15 months to see if he remembers what happens there.
That is all the news. I am feeling pretty good, just incredibly, tired. Like unsafe, should I be carrying my one year old tired. It is amazing what your body goes through and the person on the street can't tell at all. God is amazing at how he created our bodies.

Long Time No Blog
So, it has been awhile since I have blogged. I might not remember how to do this. Just kidding.
We went to NYC Friday and Sunday. We took the train in, about an hour and forty-five minute ride. We saw Ground Zero. It was (I can't even think of a word to describe it, amazing isn't right, but it kind of is right). I had never been to NYC so hadn't seen the World Trade Center before. I was amazed at how large the hole is. It is so deep. I, of course, cried just looking. They have a timeline displayed of exactly what happened at what time with a diagram of how the planes came in from two different angles. They didn't have any pictures of the plane actually hitting the building. My husband pointed that out. He thought they should so it would remind people exactly how awful the terrorists are. I agree that it would be good to portray those images. Even though it would be really hard to look at.
We also saw the Empire State Building and waited in the line for 45 minutes to go to the top. It was amazing and beautiful. I never would have imagined how quiet and peaceful it is up there. Sage really liked looking out and had absolutly no fear. He was sticking his head through the fence! While waiting in line, an employee told us that we couldn't wait in line with Sage sitting on Drew's shoulders. It is a little scary that they can tell us that. Like we aren't good parents. Everyone in line was disappointed because he was waving and smiling at people and dinging fingers with some. He is quite the entertainer!
We also went to the Guggenheim Museaum. It was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and only the building was interesting to me. I could have skipped the art. Why are naked people considered art? I don't get it.
We walked through part of Central Park. It is so beautiful! There are so many places for Sage to swing and play, unfortunatly, he was sleeping! I definitly want to see more of Central Park. There were so many runners. It encouraged Drew and I to run. My mom is here this week so she can be with Sage if we go early in the morning and then we are going to buy a jogging stroller. A cheap one.
My mom is visiting this week which is awesome. Sage thinks she is the greatest and I get to do things that would normally be difficult like get a haircut, go to a movie with Drew, and go to a knitting class tonight! I have always wanted to learn to knit and Drew has always wanted me to have a hobby! Well, this is one that isn't too expensive, but I have to learn. So, hopefully these classes will help.
Haircuts are really expensive here. I didn't have a recommendation from anyone so I paid $40 because they had a website that I could check out. I didn't want to pay for a cheap haircut and then end up getting it fixed. I guess since I cut my hair a couple times a year that isn't so bad. But in Ames, I thought $25 was expensive!

Birthday Bubby!
Today Sage is one year old! I can't believe how fast this past year has gone. God is so amazing to create a baby to grow and learn so much in the first year of life. I praise God today for having one year with Sage. He is such a blessing. We got him a toy that he can walk behind and it turns into a ride on toy and a pair of Robeez shoes. One fun and one practical gift, since he is only one and won't remember any of this! Last night, Drew and I made a birthday onesie for Sage. It says Birthday Bubby! with colors flying out around it. It is green, blue, yellow and orange. Pretty cute.
Tomorrow, we are going to NYC! Drew is taking the whole weekend off work and we are going to take the train to NYC Friday and Sunday. It should be an adventure. I guess the train isn't air conditioned and it is supposed to be hot and muggy with a small chance of rain. It probably won't rain because I bought the rain cover for the stroller. I also got a bottle warmer. It is pretty cool. It is this liqued that heats up somehow. It is only $10. But I have to get another one because we will be gone for 2 milks and you have to boil it before you can use it again. I was reading online and a lady said she puts the gel packs in the fridge and they keep the milk cold until ready for use, then you switch it on. It takes about 10 minutes to heat up. And no, he doesn't still take a bottle (well, for half his feedings) it works with sippy cups too.
I am excited to tell you what I think about NYC!

AGAIN!!!!!
Sage got his leg stuck in the carriage (cart) again! This time we were at my normal grocery store of Stop-n-Shop. And guess what? A sweet little old lady noticed it and was going on and on about how I needed to go get someone to help me get him out because he is crying (because I of course had tried to pull his leg out). So, she pulls a guy in, he pulls another guy in, by the time his leg was freed (after much crying) there were about 10 store employees and probably 10 shoppers all standing in the middle of the aisle watching and giving suggestions. I go to finish my shopping and get stopped 4 times by people asking if he is okay. I carried him the rest of the time, by the way. One employee that stopped me started out by saying "it is none of my business but you should get one of those things that covers the cart" and then she says, "I started crying just watching him, I had to leave, I felt so bad for him." Anyone remember last time this happened? One person (mui) to get him out with one stick of butter. Not a bottle of water and a bottle of dish soap. I guess I will go buy the shop and play thing. There goes another $20. It was kind of traumatic. I did feel like crying but thought I was silly for thinking that. At the end another lady said to me, you were so calm!

Boring Blog
We had a fun fourth! We went to the beach and hung out at home. Then we watched fireworks in the harbor. They were really pretty and Sage liked most of them. There were a couple loud ones that he started to cry at but mostly he sat in my lap, unmoving amazed. His birthday is almost here. He will be one! And pretty soon he will not be a baby but a toddler! He is working on walking. He walks around furniture and holding onto our hands. He gets mad when we don't want to walk around with him anymore. For his birthday, we got him a thing he can walk behind. And a pair of shoes. I am sure he will be thrilled!
Not much has happened this week (besides the fourth). Sage has been sleeping unitl almost 8 which is nice but he is still getting up in the middle of the night. Last night it was twice. 11:30 and 3:30. His diaper was pretty full at 3:30 and he only drank 2oz of the bottle. I just can't figure this kid out. Mom always says once you think you have them figured out they change! I have enjoyed sleeping until almost 8. I wonder how long it will last.
I have been having a really hard time getting Sage into a dr. for his one year check-up. It is really hard to get an appointment. And very frustrating. I had to get a primary care physician and figure out which one is accepting new patients. I finally got one and then it was one that can't see Sage. She was an APRN which sees teenagers apparantly. So I had to change the pcp and call back. Now, they told me to call Friday morning when the scedules are out. It is pretty frustrating.
My husband let Sage type on the computer the other day. Big mistake, now he thinks he can always type and throws a fit if he isn't allowed. In fact, he is throwing more fits lately. I don't know how to handle him sometimes. He will even throw a fit over eating breakfast. Yesterday, he didn't want the oatmeal and bananas I made for him and we went through 15 minutes of crying before he finally took a bite and realized that he liked it. Every meal it seems like I have to convince him to try it and then he remembers that he likes it and keeps eating but sometimes getting him to take that first bite is really hard. Last night, I gave him some Gerber strawberry apple fluffy things. He didn't want to eat them for some reason. Drew decided he needed to try one. So after forcing two in his mouth that he promptly spit out, the third one stayed in and then he started feeding them to himself. He is a piece of work.

Experiments
Remember how Sage slept through the night when he was in our room temporarily while his grandparents were here? The first night he was in his own room again, he woke up at 3am. Then my mind started turning. What if we always slept in the same room as him? It wouldn't hurt to have a family room, would it? I mean he isn't sleeping in our bed, he is sleeping in his own bed he just likes to know we are close, I guess. We are seriously considering moving our bed into his room and all sleeping in the same room. The positives are that we could get a futon for the other room and it could become a reading/guest room. I like that idea. I also like that I could be near Sage when Andrew isn't home when we are sleeping. Andrew will go back to work from 8:30 to midnight so I like the comfort of knowing that Sage and I are in the same room. His late nights will continue when grad school starts in the fall too. My moms two cents are to baby him when he is a baby and that someday he won't want to be around us so enjoy it while it lasts! I agree but on the other hand, am I creating a monster? Will this be really hard to reverse someday? Will we end up with all our kids sleeping in one room with us? I guess this is how it was in the old days. One room cabin. Any comments?
On a more serious note. The other day I was laying Sage down for a nap and started to think about what if God asked me to give up my son to save the world? Would I be able to do it? I doubt it. I am selfish. I can't comprehend the anguish God must have gone through watching his son die on a cross and knowing that he could prevent it. It is something so unfathomable especially now that I have a son. I just started to cry, God is so good to us, giving us eternal life to spend with him. Why would he want such a selfish, bratty, horrible person like me to spend with him forever. He is amazing.
On a lighter note. I went to the grocery store yesterday. I hadn't wanted to put Sage in the cart (I mean carriage) because it was rusty and seemed dirty. By the end of the trip, he was getting so heavy and I was moving so slowly, I relented and put him in the seat. I finished my shopping, paid for the groceries and loaded them in the trunk. All the while, Sage is sitting happily in the carriage. I return the carriage to the covered parking spot and lift Sage out. Or I try to lift Sage out. He is stuck. At some point, he took his chubby little leg and put it through the opening right next to the leg opening. His leg is stuck. I push his leg, he cries. I am thinking what do I do? Do I go back in the store and ask for help? I am praying Lord, please help me to think. I bought butter! I wheel him back to the car, open the trunk, find the butter and open a stick. By this time a hispanic family is walking by exclaiming oh know, he's stuck. I unwrap the butter, rub it on his leg around the bars it slides out, then his foot is stuck, I push and pull, he cries, finally free at last!
Fun Times
My husbands parents were here to visit for almost a week. We had such fun! It was really nice to have people around and do fun things! We went to an aquarium and saw penquins, beluga whales, sea lions and lots of fish. Sage loved it of course. I am sure he will remember it for years to come! He was so good while they were here. He missed so many naps and wasn't fussy. It makes me think he does too well with little sleep. He slept in our room in his pack-n-play and the parents slept in his room on an air mattress. He slept all night every night. He was waking up early like 6. Last night, he is in his own room again, and wakes up at 3am. Then slept until 7. Weird. I wonder if we always slept in the same room, if he would sleep through the night. Tempting.
Remember the washer being delivered?! I am finally using it today for the first time! I am washing the towels. It can only wash about 3 to 4 towels at a time plus some washcloths and hand towels. So, it will take me a while to catch up on the laundry since I haven't done it for a week then add towels and sheets on top of that. Maybe I should go to the laundromat one more time. Then I could take my rugs and wash them too.
It is pretty hot here and with no air conditioning, that means I do my cleaning in the morning and then try to lay low in the afternoon. Maybe I should go somewhere air conditioned or the beach!

Sweetness
My husband and son are asleep on our bed. My son is laying on my husbands chest. There is nothing sweeter than a sleeping baby except a sleeping baby laying on my sweet husband.
Andrew's (my husband) parents are here. They arrived yesterday. It is so much fun having someone familiar. I almost cried when we picked them up from the airport. I find that I can cry pretty easily lately. Like sitting in a new church again and thinking again that we left the best church and friends in the world. Or thinking about my two nephews that we lived with back in Iowa and how much I wish I could see them right now and to hear them talk. Or just to have someone to go to a chick flick with or the pool or to watch Sage while I just run out. I have an overwhelming desire to go home. I feel like I am on vacation and ready for it to end. You know how sometimes a vacation can be just one day too long and you are so ready for the familiarity of home. That is what I feel like everyday. And the hardest part is to remind myself that this is home.
Since they are here, Sage is sleeping in our room. Which means up at 6! Why can't he be a kid that sleeps late? Why do I have to get an early riser? Sage has all of the sudden gotten picky about what he will and will not eat. He used to eat anything I put on the spoon. Now, he will often scrunch up his mouth and nose and turn his face to the ceiling when I try to feed him. It is hard not to laugh because it is so cute, he is getting more ornery everyday. He walks around furniture now. I can't believe how fast time flies. He is getting so big!

Busy Tuesday
Today was laundry and cleaning day. Remember how the washer got delivered? Yeah, I still haven't gotten to use it so I spent two hours at the laundromat. And then cleaned for about four hours. My in-laws are coming tomorrow. They are staying for almost a week. I have everything as ready as can be. Tomorrow morning I will set up the air mattress and make it and move some of Sage's stuff into our room. They are going to stay in his room and Sage will move into our room for the week. I am excited for them to come. They will be our first over night guests in our new apartment! I am tired from the day and dinner still needs to be made and I want to make chocolate chip cookies.
Yesterday, I did a bunch of errands. I returned a video, deposited money at the bank, and went to the post office. I walked to those places and later drove to Target. It is nice to be able to combine exercise with errands except that I might not be walking fast enough to really call it exercise! I need to start doing something too.
Do you ever think about your position on the Iraq war? For it or against it? And why? I was recently asked my opinion and didn't feel like I am knowledgeable enough to articulate why I support the war. I support the war because the UN was giving Sadamm too many chances to get rid of his weapons of mass destruction. I know they didn't find any but it is partly the (can't think of the right word). I mean how many times do you tell your kids to do the same thing and when do you expect them to comply with you. I would bet you expect them to comply the first time they are told to do something. And why do you tell them certain things? To protect them from things. Maybe parenting and world politics shouldn't be compared but that is what relates to me.

Tag Sales
Garage sales, yard sales, whatever you call them. I am not impressed with them here. The advertising is miniscule, so you don't really know what they are selling until you get there and of course, they are all about 15 minutes away by car. So, I was all excited to tag sale here this summer but now I don't know if it will be worth it. I think I might try the consignment stores. I'll let you know about those.
Today has been a lonely Saturday. My husband is working so he can take days off next week when his parents come to visit. And I don't feel like doing much of anything. I did dishes, bills, filed, took Sage to the park, basically, I am trying to stay busy. Sage is crying in his crib. I put him down for a nap at 2:32 he cried until 2:52 slept until 3:25 and has been crying since. He is still tired though so I want him to go back to sleep but I doubt that is going to happen. It is always a debate about what to do. Get him and rock him back to sleep or listen to him cry and have us both be miserable? But he has to learn to put himself back to sleep. Sometimes, I go in, comfort and lay him back down. That doesn't usually work either. Any suggestions? Or do I want to open myself up to that?! Just kidding.
My husband just called and said he is coming home! That is almost an hour early! How exciting!

Random Things
Have you ever wanted to get out of the house and be around people? I feel that way a lot in my new city. Sometimes, I will go for a walk and take Sage to the park but today I didn't want to go for a walk. So, I packed a lunch for Sage and went to Target! Yes, we ate lunch at Target and then walked around for a little bit. I wanted to get the Jergens lotion, Natural Glow but they were all out so I had to stop at Wal-Mart, but it had to be fast because I didn't want Sage to fall asleep in the car and then not nap when we got home.
Speaking of Sage and naps. He will have good days and bad days. This morning was bad. He cried for 30 minutes before finally falling asleep. And then only slept about an hour. This afternoon he didn't make a peep when I laid him down. Our neighbors little boy, Samuel, sleeps in the same room as they do but not only that, they don't shut the door or turn a fan on for white noise. He has just learned to fall asleep with noise. It is so great. Their bedroom is between the kitchen and living room so Samuel hears everything, no matter where the people are. It makes me think that is the way to do it. It also makes me think that Sage should be sleeping in the same room as us. I mean, he does sometimes, but just when we are staying at someone elses house.
It is hard to make friends. Where am I supposed to meet people? The only people I have met, live in my building. At least I have Nico. We go somewhere together at least once a day. For a walk usually. They are going to look at a minivan this weekend. And Gabri said that we could all go on trips every weekend together. That would be fun.

Delivery
No, not labor and delivery, a washer delivery! Yes, we are getting a brand new washer delivered today! No more going to the laundromat! It isn't your typical washer, it is a small washer. It only holds 10 lbs. I am not exactly sure how much that is but I weighed one of two bags of laundry before I went to the laundromat and it weighed nearly 30 lbs! Needless to say, I will be doing laundry everyday! It is hard to decide the worse of the two evils, laundry everyday or laundromat. Laundry everyday also implies, laundry hanging somewhere everyday. Outside or inside. Outside until the weather no longer cooperates and then inside for the winter. However, we also need a place to hang the laundry outside. Thank goodness for father in laws coming to visit and requesting projects!
Last night we went to our neighbors for dinner. They happen to be Italian and made us an Italian dinner, so yummy! We are having so much fun getting to know them and have already got an invitation to visit in Italy! Did you know that pen in Italian is box? English can be a very confusing language with one word with several different meanings.
Guess what! The washer just got delivered! Now I will have to wait for hubby to get home to set it all up. But a little more waiting won't hurt.

Life
Life is starting to seem normal here. Everything is unpacked, so it is more comfortable. Our neighbors just moved here from Italy and have a son the same age as Sage. She stays at home with him so we are starting to hang out some. Yesterday, we went to the park with the boys and today we went to the library for a program. Sage happily sat in my lap but Samuel crawled around and she had to chase him. It is funny to see the difference in the babies. And at the park, Sage loves the swing and Samuel was scared. Last night, I took them to the grocery store because they don't have a car and it is too far to walk. After that, they came for an American dinner. We grilled hamburgers. Tomorrow night, we will go to their apartment for an Italian dinner. I decided that Sage will stay in his crib until 7am even if he is crying. The last two days I have done that, he has gone back to sleep! And his naps are getting better. He is so cute and so smart. My husband taught him to say aaaggghh after he takes a drink. So cute!

Fits
My son, Sage who is almost 11 months old has started to throw fits. If I tell him no or do not touch, his pouty lip comes out and then he will lay his head down on the floor and cry. It is funny to watch but also frustrating. I don't know how to tell him that he can't throw fits. I have tried ignoring him and I have tried picking him up, holding him away from my body and putting him in his crib until he stops crying. But as soon as he stops crying in his crib the moment I walk into his room, he starts again. Help! Just now, I put him in his high chair so he could have a snack of Cheerios, I don't know if he didn't want them or what but he immediatly started dropping them on the floor, I told him no harshly and his lip came out, his head went down on the pile of cheerios and when he lifted his head, he had two cheerios stuck to his lip! I couldn't help but laugh. He stopped throwing them off and started eating them, but I don't want him to have an attitude.
In other news, an Italian couple with a son the same age as Sage moved in upstairs. They have had a lot of trouble moving. Long flights, dirty apartment, then last night, they had no hot water. We hauled up buckets of hot water so they could give the baby a bath. They are so nice and we look forward to getting to know them more.
I went to a Stay and Play at the library yesterday. It was for kids ages 0 - 5. I met some other moms and one even gave me her phone number. She lives close to the beach and said to call her when I bring Sage, they are always up for a trip to the beach. But today is another day of what do I do all day with Sage and myself? The easiest thing is to go shopping, but our budget can't handle that.

First Blog
This is my first time blogging! I am excited and have no idea what to write. We just moved to a new city and state, half way across the country. I don't know anyone yet so I have a lot of time on my hands!
I am a stay at home mom for my son, Sage who is almost 11 months old. He is so much fun. He crawls and scoots, waves bye-bye and babbles all the time. We took him to the beach and ocean for the first time last weekend. He wasn't impressed with the grittiness of the sand or the freezing cold water. I guess I will be looking for some kiddy pools. He hasn't quite adjusted with napping and sleeping at night. I am now rocking or patting him to sleep for his naps and he is frequently getting up in the middle of the night and the only way I can get him to go back to sleep is by giving him a bottle. His naps are really short like less than an hour and he usually will only do that twice a day. I don't know what to do. I just keep telling myself that it is a phase.
