Let me just complain for one second

Complain might not be the right word.  Inform.  Maybe.  Let's go with inform.

I'm a little chubby.  Or a lot chubby.

I've gotten asked many times if carrying a girl is different.  At first, I said no.  My belly is the same, kind of like a basketball.  And then I noticed something.  Something that was sneaking up on me from behind.

No, really, my behind.

I had to move into my big girl panties in the second trimester instead of the third like with the boys.  And with the beginning of my third, I'm in need of big(ger) girl panties.

My jeans that I wore through the end of the pregnancy with Levi, they don't fit.

Jeans that I had accidentally bought too big when pregnant with Kolby and never wore with Levi?  Fit, um, snuggly.  Let's just say it's a good thing I don't live where I need to where jeans.

My shorts are less than comfortable.  But wearable.  But I feel huge in them.

And sometimes a girl just wants to wear shorts, not a dress.

And I still have quite a bit of time left.

And I'm not even going to mention the varicose veins in my legs.  They're hideous.

End complaining.  I mean informing.

Because having a daughter will be totally worth it, right?

  3. I had nasty vericose veins not to mention the most horrible leg cramps ever quite frequently with Callie, I also carried her differently then the boys, much higher then they were and had the strangest things happen during her pregnancy. But she is most definately worth all of that and more. You are going to LOVE having a little girl! So excited for you!!!!

  4. Most definitely worth every ounce.

I gained the most weight with my girls. 60 pounds with my first! The stupid thing is I didn't realize how much 60 pounds really was until after she was born. Yikes.

  6. Kristy, you have always been beautiful and I'm sure you look great. Having a daughter will definitely be worth it. The fourth pregnancy was really hard on me too. I started getting varicose veins and I never had them with the other pregnancies. I also watched my weight really closely and gained 40lb anyways. But don't worry it will all be worth it when you get to hold your sweet daughter for the first time. -Lindsay

  7. I think you look fabulous!! Seriously! I was in big girl panties long before my third trimester. pretty soon after my second :) And yes, a little girls is totally worth it all, including the veins. I need to show you mine sometime and we could show and tell! I wore the jobsdt pregnancy hose that were soo uncomfortable. They helped some, but were hot, hot, hot.

  11. Hm, I guess you are right. Looking back. I have gained less weight (so far) with my boy and with the two girls I gained 50-60 pounds. (Not that I won't gain that much with the little boy... just not that quickly. deep sigh)

It is worth it! And sorry, but at least in my experience *you* (me) will need more convincing in the never ending 4th trimester.

  12. If it makes you feel any better kristy, I have been in maternity pants since week 8!!!!!! Could be the twins in here causing that, but, still. 8 weeks?? It was horrifying to me to wake up and realize that my jeans didn't fit. I had just bought really cute ones before we left Texas. Sad that no one here in Germany will get to see them for quite awhile!!!

I don't even want to think about how big I am going to end up. Do they make bigger big girl panties???? B/c that will probably be me. Love reading your blog!!!!!! Miss seeing you too! oh, and, great job getting through the allergies!!! Now you know why I am so crazy about carrying around our benadryl for Maribel!
