I have a secret.
Not a bad secret. Just a secret. Well, not technically, a secret. I've mentioned it to people before. And they usually think I'm a little crazy. Or wonder why.
You wanna know what it is?
I think nose rings on women are beautiful. Not hoops. Or chains connecting from an ear to a nose.
Just a small, simple stud. Maybe gold, maybe a small diamond. Small being the key word.
One you barely notice.
I kind of want one. Okay, I've wanted one for a long time and haven't thought that I could pull it off.
But now. Something's different. Not about the way I look. I think it is more of a confidence thing. Maybe because I'm shh 30. I just feel more comfortable in my skin. In what I wear. I care less of how others view me.
So, do you think I'm crazy?
If you do, I'd be okay with that.
Kristy,
ReplyDeleteI found your blog through other mutual friend's blogs. So fun to read....I can hear you saying all these things. YES! I too think small nose rings are beautiful. Our Indian student has one and she looks so pretty. I would get one but you may remember that I have a small bump in my nose. I had almost forgot it was there (now that I am finally in my 30's) until recently when Mike and I were at the mall on a date. We were celebrating our 10th anniversary. I ran into an old friend from highschool. She didn't recognize me at first because she said, "I must of recently broke my nose." I instantly started to tear up. I'm not too vain, but I guess I never thought my nose looked broken! Geez! I think Mike wanted to punch her in the nose after she said that.:) But your nose is beautiful and I think you should definitely get a nose ring! -Lindsay
I think you are crazy, but...
ReplyDeleteLee does not. He said the same thing on Saturday (he also agrees about the stud and not the hoop).
I don't think you're crazy. I am currently wanting to get tattoo #2, and I really want this one to be somewhere where people will see it. I do remember you mentioning this at some point, actually. If it's something you've been thinking about for a long time, maybe maybe... :)
ReplyDeleteOne of my very good friends has a teeny little stud in her nose. It works on her. She's sort of alternative, used to be in a band, travelled the world doing mission work, has a very funky personal style. She's also a mom of 3 and the wife of a man who is on staff at a church.
ReplyDeleteI think some woman can pull it off if they have the history and the vibe to go with it. Confidence is key. Otherwise, you'll look like you are trying too hard.
So if you have the confidence (and the high pain threshold) go for it! A reputable piercer may not do it while you are pregnant, though, because you are more likely to get an infection. And, you'd totally need to get it done by a tattoo/piercing parlor because they usually have strict hygiene standards to be licensed by the state.
The only drawback I've heard from other friends is that in the weeks after they had it done, it felt like they always had a big boogie in their noses.
I hope if you do it, you'll share pictures! :)
You know what? I don't think you're crazy... not even in the slightest. My roomie in college got a tiny diamond stud in her nose and I have to admit, I REALLY liked it! I even thought about geting one myself, but I saw her get pierced and wasn't keen on the process. Go for it! It'll look good!
ReplyDeleteI think that is awesome!
ReplyDeleteI have a secret too. Less cute though. :)
on the right smeller, they are PERFECT on a woman!!
ReplyDeleteNope. Go get one, I think the small diamond looks really cute. And I totally remember you thinking that in college. Just do it, Or you'll be 80ishhh and still want one. You'll look great with it, I've always thought that! Plus, if you hate it take it out. It's not like a tat! I had my nose done for about 6 months when decided to take it out. no scars.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what a baby girl Steffen will look like!! xoxo
I dont' think you are crazy! I know what you mean.. very small, diamond chip. I actually like them and think that they look pretty and femine on the right person: groomed, non-goth, person :) I like them on other people, but just wouldn't have the courage to do it to myself. I can picture you having one. I guess the question is, what does Drew think?
ReplyDeleteI've thought about getting one for years now too. I didn't for a long time because of allergies (blowing my nose all the time, etc), but after having kids, my allergies haven't been so bad. Maybe it's time I get a nose ring.
ReplyDeleteGet One!!! I love mine and wish I had gotten it sooner.
ReplyDeleteTasha
I am totally with you!! I definitely think you could pull it off. Do it, do it, do it!!
ReplyDeleteI think it'd be cute! On you. I would worry about the big booger feeling though. :)
ReplyDeleteI think you would look great with one!
ReplyDeleteI lof them! I had one two different times, but b/c of volleyball it just doesn't work. =( The smaller the better. =) When I pierced my nose in college, my whole family got fake ones (very REAL looking fake ones!) and wore them when I brought my new friends from ISU home for the first time. Har...har...har. =) But really it WAS funny. Pete and Nate and Betsy were all "Uh...yer family is WEIRD..." =)
ReplyDeleteI agree and think they are very cute. But, what if...I mean really....what if you always feel like you have a booger in your nose? That, my friend, could be maddening!
ReplyDeleteI totally want one too! We were just having this discussion today at work. Too funny!
ReplyDeleteGo for it!
ReplyDeleteI got an eyebrow ring in Wales and loved it, when I was 19. I worked at my dad's company and he made me take it out. :(
ReplyDeleteDO IT.
My sister has one, and I have thought about getting one as well!! I think it would look great on you.
ReplyDeleteI think we should go get one together. Your not crazy at all, now if it was a hoop with a chain connecting to your earring, then maybe. :) I think we should give it a whirl.
