Too Much Bragging

Sage has woken up the past two nights. And I don't know why. The first night I tried rocking and rocking and finally gave up and got a bottle, second night I went straight to the bottle and he cried when I laid him back down. That is very unusual, before he would lay down and fall back asleep. He cried for 6 minutes. Yes, I timed it. I was giving him 10 because that is the magic number during the day. If it is longer than 10 minutes, I might as well get him because he isn't going to sleep. I hate it when he cries. It breaks my heart. I was sitting on our cold dining room floor waiting for him to fall back asleep. Maybe he is having a growth spurt. It doesn't make sense because we were gone for 2 out of 4 weeks this month and he did awesome staying in other pack n plays at strange houses and now we get back to our own comfy crib and home and he starts waking up? Maybe it is because I am not as close. I was sleeping in the same room as he was when we were away. Who knows.

He now says Dada, ball and boo. And he uses boo appropriatly! He will peek his face out from behind a chair and say boo. It is so cute!

I think I may have just felt the baby move for the first time! It didn't feel like gas, it felt different. At first I thought, what the heck and then remembered, I'm pregnant. I have a doctor appointment on Monday so will give the updates of everything then.

I love my kid!

He is so great! We rode on two airplanes yesterday and not once did he throw a fit. In fact, on the way there, he was great too. At the end of the flight everyone would always comment what a good baby he is. I had to force myself to say thank you and not I know! And on the last flight there was a little girl who screamed a lot and made Sage look even better! And just now, he came over and started to fuss a little and I asked if he wanted to go night night and he signed please. I laid him down and he didn't even peep.

Except now, 20 minutes after I laid him down, he is screaming and I went in and checked on him to make sure he wasn't poopy. He is just crying. I don't know what he wants but he needs a nap. I think I will get in the shower so I can't hear his crying. It just breaks my heart. It is so hard because I know if I get him out of bed, taking a nap is no longer an option to him. He will let me rock him for about a minute than he will want to get down to play. His cries are subsiding. Sometimes, he needs a good 10 minute cry then he conks out.

I love when he is playing and then he will walk over to me and give me a hug and go back to playing. It is so stinkin cute. He is now quiet and I want to report that was only 2 minutes of crying.

We had a fun time visiting friends and family. It was kind of a lonely breakfast this morning with just Sage and I since Drew had already gone to school. I am pretty tired from the trip. I think I am 14 or 15 weeks and baby center said my energy will be coming back but I haven't felt that yet. But I haven't thrown up in over a week!

My Grandma Mary died yesterday. She wasn't really my grandma but an adopted grandma. Her daughter and grandkids had died in a helicopter accident 20 years ago and my brother reached out to her and then our whole family kind of adopted her. I got to say good bye last Tuesday. It was so sad to see her that way but I am glad that I got to say good bye and tell her that I love her one more time.

Is this my child?

Sage has been sleeping 11 - 12 hours at night. It has been awesome! Ever since we returned from NC, he has been going to bed at 8 and getting up at7:30 and this morning was 8:15! It was like sleeping in! I am not holding my breath for it to last though. Especially since we are traveling, that means he will be up earlier. And we are going back an hour in Iowa so 7:30 to Sage will be 6:30 Iowa time.

Drew is signing up to take the GMATS to try to get into the school of management here at Yale. They have a program that if he can get in to the school, he can get his masters in business by adding one more year of school. It sounds like it will be pretty difficult to get in, so I said go for it and let's see what happens! That is what I said about Yale masters of architecture and look where it got me! I guess we will just have to wait and see. Always waiting for something.

Sage and I went to meet Drew for lunch to get a burrito from a street vendor. They are really good! They rival Chipotle and they are only $5. A guy from China approached us and invited us to a house church. He went to Russia and was saved and met his wife and now he works at Yale Hospital. It seems kind of sad to me that a foreigner came up to me and invited me to learn about Christ. Shouldn't I be doing that to other Americans or foreigners? We will probable go sometime but we will be gone for the next 2 weeks. And one of those weeks, I will get to attend Cornerstone! I am so excited! Speaking of my trip, I better go pack!

Fun Trip

Sage and I had a really fun time in North Carolina visiting my brother and his family. We left just before the hurricane and am glad that we got home safely! It was so much fun to see all the changes in my brothers life. All good changes. He plays in the worship band at their church! It was neat to see him praising God!

Sage and I leave again on Sunday. This time we are going to Iowa! We will spend some time at my sisters house in Cedar Rapids and some time at my brothers in Ames. I am so excited to see everyone! I already know it will go too fast and be hard to come home again. So, the last couple of days have been a whirlwind of laundry and cleaning. It rained all day yesterday and has been today also so i can't hang the clothes out to dry and I really need the laundry to get done so I can pack all of us. Drew will be going to Finland while we are in Iowa. The flight will be long. The first leg going to Minneapolis will be a 3 hour flight! Pray that Sage stays happy and I stay sane! He did really well flying back and forth to North Carolina. His ears didn't seem to bother him. I kept making him drink from his sippy, even when I knew it was practically empty! Then we have a 3 hour layover. It will be a long day. Any travel tips? Should I check my carseat or gate check it? Carrying it around the airport for 3 hours sounds like a pain but what do I do if they lose it? Ahhh the dilema.

Ultrasound: We had our ultrasound on Wednesday, the 14th (Happy Birthday Drew!). Everything looks good and the baby measured at 13 weeks. Which makes me happy to be almost done with the first trimester! It is such a miracle to see that tiny completly formed baby growing inside of me that I am completly oblivious to. Except for the throwing up! I am happy to report that I did not throw up at all while at Brad and Al's. I boldly predicted that the morning sickness was gone at the ultrasound and threw up my dinner that night. Typical.

I probably won't write more until we get back from Iowa!

Gettin Ready

Today I am getting Sage and I packed for our trip to NC! I think he is pretty much packed except for the stuff I have to grab tomorrow morning (blankie and sleepy bear). Why is packing for myself so much harder? Because I don't like my clothes. I never do. It doesn't matter how many clothes I have, I don't like them. They don't fit right, it is too big or too small. And now I feel larger than normal anyway. I have already pooched out a little. Guess I never got those muscles back in shape! I don't think most people notice, only if you are really looking. My clothes still fit but I dont like them anyway!

I am waiting to book a ticket to go to Iowa while Drew is in Finland. He is supposed to confirm the dates today but doesn't think the guy is working. The ticket price has already risen by $4! I am just afraid I will miss the ticket for some reason. My parents graciously offered to help pay for my ticket to Iowa. I am so grateful because I really didn't want to stay here alone for such a long period of time. I am so excited! I was telling Drew last night the things that I am going to eat while there. I am going to Hickory Park and order a Saucy Southerner with mashed potatos, no gravy and for an appetizer, cheese balls with ranch and then for dessert a Snicker sundae! All for under $10! With a cherry coke! And I might go to B-Bops too and get a cheeseburger, fries and chocolate shake! I can't wait! And of course I am excited to see family and friends also!

I will probably not be posting or blog stalking for about a week. Don't miss me too much!

Life Update

About my power outage post, later I was thinking how selfish and a word that I can't think of I am. I complain about losing power for 6 hours and look at what these folks in Louisianna and Mississippi are going through. The devestation there is awful and unimaginable. My prayer is for healing for the sick and hurt and comfort for everyone.

I had my first pre-natal appointment last night. Everything looks great. I weighed in at 143.5 which was a shock because when we moved here in May, I was definitey more towards 150. I don't know when or how that weight came off. The babies heart rate was 156. My uterus size seemed to be on track for being 10 weeks along so the due date of March 25 is going to stay with us. I am going to the Womens Center at Yale for my prenatal and will be seeing a midwife but anyone who happens to be on call will deliver me. That could be a dr. or a midwife or a student dr. Different. I am glad that this is my second baby so I feel like I kind of know what is going on and what will happen and am okay with whoever delivers me.

Sage is walking more and more. Drew said yesterday at the doctor office, he was standing back up on his own. Here at home, he wants me to help him stand. He is taking about 10 wobbly steps in a row. He gets so rushed and then falls, if he keeps going slow, he does great. It is fun to see him learn!

Power Outage

We were without power yesterday evening for about 6 hours. We were out of milk for Sage so we went to the grocery store and got milk and ice to keep everything cool. My husband is so smart! Except that at 11 when the power came back on, he turned on the air conditioners in our room and Sages room and forgot to take all the fridge food of the freezer. So he gets up with Sage this morning and comes right back to our room saying we have other issues. The whole gallon of milk is completly frozen! He figured out to put it in the microwave to defrost it. It was hard falling asleep in such a warm, quiet room. Sage had a hard time too. He can hear everything from the apartment hall too and he kind of seemed scared. It is not usually that dark in his room but after some rocking and butt patting, he finally drifted off to sleep.

Yesterday, Sage and I went to Westport, CT with a friend and her baby. It is about a half hour away. She described it as some little outdoor shops. I pictured some shops you can only find in a small town with unique items. No, this was Tiffany, Pottery Barn, Gap (with a Maternity), Banana Republic, J. Crew, Mimi Maternity and tons of other stores! We spent quite a bit of time and didn't make it to more than 4 stores! So, we were in Baby Gap and Gap Maternity for a long time! But I did get to try on the jeans and decided to buy a pair! They were expensive but I think they will be worth it since I will be pregnant all during the winter months and jeans are my favorite thing to wear!

SHUT UP!

Drew found out yesterday that his studio is taking a trip...to FINLAND! I am so jealous! Everyone told us that he would only take a day trip this semester. We had planned for me to go to North Carolina to visit my brothers family while he was gone so I didn't have to stay here alone. Well, yesterday morning, we were watching the news about Hurricane Katrina and they were saying fuel prices are going to go up so airline tickets will go up. So, we get on the internet and look for tickets thinking that it doesn't really matter when Sage and I go because Drew won't really be taking a trip anyway. We book tickets for next week! Drew won't be going until the end of September and the dates aren't set! I am bummed that we will be gone at different times. I am going to call Delta and see if I can change my ticket. But the other bummer is that I was going to be in NC for my nephews birthday. I haven't ever celebrated his birthday with him. He is going to be four and we have always lived in different cities. So, I don't know what to do. Ideally, I would leave while Drew is gone too and go to Iowa. But we had only planned on one trip this fall and next semester I will be too pregnant to travel while Drew goes on a trip. And the next semester, I don't know if I will be up to flying with two babies by myself. Sage would be 2 by then so we would have to buy him a ticket anyway and could we afford two tickets?

Pregnancy update- still puking. No weight gain or body changes which is weird because with Sage everything started moving around right away but maybe this time, everything is in place and just waiting to get bigger. I didn't gain weight right away last time either but don't worry, made up for it later!

Elephants upstairs?

New neighbors just moved in upstairs and I think they might be some sort of human elephant breed. They look normal but they are the loudest steppers I have ever heard. This morning I woke up to them at 6:58am! Ummm, my baby wasn't even awake yet. Why am I waking up before him? That is just not right.

More exciting subjects, Sage is trying more and more to walk everyday. It is so fun to see him and cheer him on. We have to be careful and only encourage him when he is walking because if we clap when he falls he thinks falling is cool and he will stand and then fall and laugh. His foot has straightened out. Of course, right after I ask people and get all paranoid.

The weather is finally beautiful. It has been in the 70's all week. I am loving it. Except that I am still sickly so I don't always get out to enjoy it.

Drew starts school at Yale on Wed. He has had orientation this week which has been so nice because it was just in the mornings and he was home in the afternoons. I love hanging out with him and just having him around. Last night he went to Happy Hour at the A & A building (Art and Architecture). Yale provides beer and soda and it is on the roof every Friday night. Crazy. He had fun meeting his school mates. Maybe next week we can get a sitter and I can go with him!

We went to the Farmers Market this morning and got yummy peaches, apples, raspberries, corn and tomatoes! I was glad to see fruits and veggies. I hadn't been in a long time and the first couple of times that I went, they only had bread, pastries, milk and meat. But this time they were loaded with the good stuff!

Houston, we have a walker

Sage took his first steps today. He has been practicing standing for a few days and today he actually took steps! And we caught it on video! The best "run" was 5 in a row! He is so brave! We are so proud!

Getting Big!

Sage, not my pregnant belly! S is getting to be such a big boy! We have started brushing his teeth at night now. He is very good about mommy's turn and Sage's turn. For his turn, he hold the tooth brush and sucks the tooth paste and drools. I don't let it last too long! He is also starting to walk a lot better. Not by himself but at first I was worried because his left foot turned in a lot and he would trip himself. Now, he usually keeps it pretty straight and he uses his thing to push and loves to push it around the house. He can turn it now but hasn't figured out how to back it up to get unstuck out of some spots. He will help pick up his blocks too. He puts them in the bucket one by one and I cheer and he keeps repeating until they are all picked up! Then he starts to take them back out and put them in again so I will continue to cheer!

He hasn't really napped this morning but he is just talking in his bed! I just want to leave him in there! I have already got some cleaning done and now I need to eat, again.

Pregnancy update- I feel yucky most of the time but haven't thrown up in a couple of days, although there have been threats. I haven't gained any weight yet according to my scale. I also don't feel like I am eating enough. I try but nothing sounds good and I am eating just to eat so I don't feel so yucky. 9 weeks down, too many to go!

I hate puking

Not that anyone enjoys it, but I really hate it. Guess why I puked this morning? Because I was brushing my teeth and looked at the dirt on my bathroom counter. This was at like 11am when I finally showered. Maybe it is a sign that I should clean more often. Not that I didn't know that!
The other day I puked at Sam's Club. We ate pizza and then I ran to the bathroom. Luckily no one else was in there! I have puked more with this pregnancy than with S. Maybe it is a girl. I hope we get to find out.

I am having a hard time adjusting to this new situation. D keeps saying that we would have had to move anyway and that it would be hard anywhere. BUT, we would have stayed in the midwest, within driving distance of family and friends. It is really hard for me to think that I won't see family until Christmas. I will be 6 months pregnant! That seems so far away! D will have completed one semester of graduate school. I just miss my best friend. I miss seeing them everyday and playing with the boys and doing fun things with them. I want to go home. This doesn't feel like home. It feels like way too long of a vacation with no fun things happening.
Surely, it will get better.

HOT HOT Saturday

Today is the hottest day of the year here in CT. It is so stinkin hot. I have always loved summer but this summer, I hate it. I am so ready for fall, I can't even explain it. I think it is because this is the first summer that I have not worked the entire summer and have been home to sweat it out all day long. I wonder if the heat is making me feel worse on top of my pregnancy. I wear a ponytail everyday. EVERYDAY! I am tired of ponytails. Enough whining.

D is working today so S and I went to Target for lunch and wandered for 2 hours. I got two new shirts ($5 each!), lipstick and a hair thing that is stupid and I am going to return. They always look so handy in the package. I didn't spend too much for being there so long. Then I was on a hunt for box fans or the fans that are side by side and they blow air in and out. Not at Target, Wal-Mart or Lowes. Somebody suggested Home Depot. Maybe tomorrow.

I think I am going to take S to a high school swimming pool next week. I want to teach him to love water and to swim but the ocean isn't the best teaching place. I want to dunk his head under water and help him learn to hold his breath. I would love to take a swimming class with him. I think that would be a good activity for us. Oh, I have to take him to a high school pool because they don't have outdoor public pools here, just beaches. While beaches are great, they just aren't a pool with a fun slide! I miss that about IA. I could take him to a pool and go down a slide with him. I think he would love that!

I better go relax while he naps!

Fun Weekend

We went camping in Rhode Island. I had never been to Rhode Island. It is very beautiful. It was a last minute decision. Friday morning, D was supposed to go sailing and then we were going to try to camp after that but it was looking impossible. Then, sailing was out because the weather forecast was for thunderstorms and since they were going to go on the open ocean water, it wasn't a great idea. So at 8am, we decided to drive to RI anyway and see if we can find a place to camp. We packed up all our stuff and left by 10. We took the scenic route and drove across RI and started at the farthest point away looking for a camp site. By the time we found one (at the campground we called and they said they have some- surprise!) it was about 1. I am starving, Sage had drank some milk but he was hungry and I was getting to the point that I felt like throwing up I was so hungry. So we went and looked at our campsite which was gorgeous. And headed to find a McDonalds and a Wal-Mart because we hadn't packed any food. There was a Super Wal-Mart about 3 miles away. We bought an air mattress too because we realized we had forgotten ours and a pump. Now, we have two air mattresses! By the time we got back to camp it was 3:30 so we started setting up our tent and stuff. As we are setting it up, it is thundering. But it never did rain the whole time we were there.

We had to go back to Wal-Mart because the pump we bought didn't work and we thought of a few more things that we needed. So we ended up eating at McDonalds for dinner again. Not S, he had good food. At lunch, we tried giving him a chicken nugget and he didn't really like it. I was surprised.

That night, we put S to bed like normal. He is screaming. He stands up in his pack-n-play pulls the window cover down and looks out at us screaming. We should have taken a picture it was so cute. So, we decided to keep him up longer and then take him for a drive to get him to fall asleep. Worked perfectly. I transfer him to his bed and he sleeps. Until after I get ready for bed and enter the tent. He wakes up. By this time, it is after quiet hours (which are strictly enforced) and we are trying to keep him quiet. He falls asleep laying on my chest so I try to move him to his bed again. He sleeps for a little bit (not long enough for me to sleep) and wakes up and the process is repeated. I lost track of how many times this happens but around 1, I can't take it anymore. My back is hurting and I can't get him to quiet down. Another car ride to Wal-Mart with D going in to see if he can find a fan that runs on batteries for white noise- no such luck. We get back to camp, transfer him to bed and all is good until 7:15am. He even slept through 2 car alarms!

Saturday, we head to the beach with beautiful sand and real ocean waves. We took a picnic lunch and had a great time. S even walked in the sand which was a first. He would cry as soon as his feet touched sand and lift his legs. Very funny. He was not appreciative of the water coming up to him and getting his feet wet! Then we headed back to the campsite but stopped for ice-cream. S had fallen asleep before we were out of the parking lot so we drove around some to let him sleep.

That night, we roasted hot dogs and tried a new approach to getting S to sleep. A lot of prayer and a stroller walk. He woke up once, took the rest of his milk, slept unitl 5:45, took another stroller ride and slept until 7. We ate breakfast, packed up and drove home which took one hour and twenty five minuts with S and I sleeping the whole way and a grasshopper clinging for dear life to our front window!

S and I ate lunch as soon as we got home, I promptly threw it all up and laid on the couch the rest of the day. At 7, I went to bed and got up at 7 this morning. D is so great for taking care of S last night, finishing dinner, giving him a bath, playing with him and putting him to bed. He was up at 4:45 so I hope we haven't messed up his sleeping through the night routine with our camping trip!

Boring, Hot Day

It is just another boring, hot day here. I am really tired of this hot weather. I have decided that I want to live where the only seasons are spring and fall. Although, I like winter better than summer. It is just too hot and humid. Enough complaining.

I haven't been sick with my pregnancy. I am tired a lot and sometimes don't feel the best but definitly liveable. Sometimes, I think my I don't feel good times are all in my head and then I run to the toilet and almost puke and think, maybe not.

Last night, we sat on the back porch with our Italian neighbors and ate Hagandaz ice cream. It is our new favorite ice cream and my favorite combination is chocolate and coffee. So good. We enjoy talking with them and as always stayed up too late. It is fun building relationships with people but why is it so hard to share my love for Christ with them? I mean, we say things but most of the time, they are just silent after we say something spiritual. It will be interesting over the next few months. They will go back to Italy next May or June.

Yesterday, I took S to Target and we ate lunch there. I just love Pizza Hut personal pan cheese pizza! He is getting to be such a big boy. He can drink out of a straw so he is always wanting me to share my drink with him. I had diet coke so I didn't but as we were leaving I got lemonade and he really like that! I got him his own cup with a straw too. I still haven't gotten him off the bottle. No one seems too concerned so I guess I'm not either!

Does anyone have the Maclaren Twin Traveller stroller? Any comments about it except that it is expensive? I think that is what we are leaning towards. We aren't going to purchase it until February or March or maybe wait until after the baby is born.

D is thinking about buying an ellipitcal machine and wants to know if i will use it at home. I want to say yes, because I think that I would but I don't want to get blamed if I don't. However, it would sit in our living room staring at me while I watched tv so maybe that would be good incentive. He thinks I would be happier if I was able to exercise more. Happier with my body and happier in general. He is right. I just can't leave the house without Sage and I don't have anyone to watch him. And I don't really like videos. I don't know why.

Enough rambling. Oh, tomorrow, I get to go shopping with a friend and her new baby and I get to go without S! D is going to spend time with him! D worked 90 hours last week so is taking Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday off! We might be going camping. Hopefully, it won't be too hot! And yes, I did say friend! I met her through D, he works with her husband. We actually met them for lunch when we came to visit to see if we wanted to move here. She had a baby about a month ago.

It's Official

I went to the doctor today. I am 6 weeks pregnant and due March 25. My first appointment is August 31. Crazy. We will have one baby born at every school Drew has attended! Hopefully, this is the last school but not the last baby!

More Changes

The biggest change of the summer is that by next summer, we will have another baby! Yes, I am pregnant again. I am guessing that I am about 5 or 6 weeks along. We are very surprised but excited. I haven't found a midwife yet so I haven't been to the doctor to get the official test.

I took Sage to his one year appointment yesterday and he is 30 inches and weighs 23 pounds. He is in the 75th percentile for height and 60th for weight. His head however, is in the 95th percentile! He screamed for the shots and again when they pricked his finger. It will be interesting taking him at 15 months to see if he remembers what happens there.

That is all the news. I am feeling pretty good, just incredibly, tired. Like unsafe, should I be carrying my one year old tired. It is amazing what your body goes through and the person on the street can't tell at all. God is amazing at how he created our bodies.

Long Time No Blog

So, it has been awhile since I have blogged. I might not remember how to do this. Just kidding.

We went to NYC Friday and Sunday. We took the train in, about an hour and forty-five minute ride. We saw Ground Zero. It was (I can't even think of a word to describe it, amazing isn't right, but it kind of is right). I had never been to NYC so hadn't seen the World Trade Center before. I was amazed at how large the hole is. It is so deep. I, of course, cried just looking. They have a timeline displayed of exactly what happened at what time with a diagram of how the planes came in from two different angles. They didn't have any pictures of the plane actually hitting the building. My husband pointed that out. He thought they should so it would remind people exactly how awful the terrorists are. I agree that it would be good to portray those images. Even though it would be really hard to look at.

We also saw the Empire State Building and waited in the line for 45 minutes to go to the top. It was amazing and beautiful. I never would have imagined how quiet and peaceful it is up there. Sage really liked looking out and had absolutly no fear. He was sticking his head through the fence! While waiting in line, an employee told us that we couldn't wait in line with Sage sitting on Drew's shoulders. It is a little scary that they can tell us that. Like we aren't good parents. Everyone in line was disappointed because he was waving and smiling at people and dinging fingers with some. He is quite the entertainer!

We also went to the Guggenheim Museaum. It was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and only the building was interesting to me. I could have skipped the art. Why are naked people considered art? I don't get it.

We walked through part of Central Park. It is so beautiful! There are so many places for Sage to swing and play, unfortunatly, he was sleeping! I definitly want to see more of Central Park. There were so many runners. It encouraged Drew and I to run. My mom is here this week so she can be with Sage if we go early in the morning and then we are going to buy a jogging stroller. A cheap one.

My mom is visiting this week which is awesome. Sage thinks she is the greatest and I get to do things that would normally be difficult like get a haircut, go to a movie with Drew, and go to a knitting class tonight! I have always wanted to learn to knit and Drew has always wanted me to have a hobby! Well, this is one that isn't too expensive, but I have to learn. So, hopefully these classes will help.

Haircuts are really expensive here. I didn't have a recommendation from anyone so I paid $40 because they had a website that I could check out. I didn't want to pay for a cheap haircut and then end up getting it fixed. I guess since I cut my hair a couple times a year that isn't so bad. But in Ames, I thought $25 was expensive!

Birthday Bubby!

Today Sage is one year old! I can't believe how fast this past year has gone. God is so amazing to create a baby to grow and learn so much in the first year of life. I praise God today for having one year with Sage. He is such a blessing. We got him a toy that he can walk behind and it turns into a ride on toy and a pair of Robeez shoes. One fun and one practical gift, since he is only one and won't remember any of this! Last night, Drew and I made a birthday onesie for Sage. It says Birthday Bubby! with colors flying out around it. It is green, blue, yellow and orange. Pretty cute.

Tomorrow, we are going to NYC! Drew is taking the whole weekend off work and we are going to take the train to NYC Friday and Sunday. It should be an adventure. I guess the train isn't air conditioned and it is supposed to be hot and muggy with a small chance of rain. It probably won't rain because I bought the rain cover for the stroller. I also got a bottle warmer. It is pretty cool. It is this liqued that heats up somehow. It is only $10. But I have to get another one because we will be gone for 2 milks and you have to boil it before you can use it again. I was reading online and a lady said she puts the gel packs in the fridge and they keep the milk cold until ready for use, then you switch it on. It takes about 10 minutes to heat up. And no, he doesn't still take a bottle (well, for half his feedings) it works with sippy cups too.

I am excited to tell you what I think about NYC!

AGAIN!!!!!

Sage got his leg stuck in the carriage (cart) again! This time we were at my normal grocery store of Stop-n-Shop. And guess what? A sweet little old lady noticed it and was going on and on about how I needed to go get someone to help me get him out because he is crying (because I of course had tried to pull his leg out). So, she pulls a guy in, he pulls another guy in, by the time his leg was freed (after much crying) there were about 10 store employees and probably 10 shoppers all standing in the middle of the aisle watching and giving suggestions. I go to finish my shopping and get stopped 4 times by people asking if he is okay. I carried him the rest of the time, by the way. One employee that stopped me started out by saying "it is none of my business but you should get one of those things that covers the cart" and then she says, "I started crying just watching him, I had to leave, I felt so bad for him." Anyone remember last time this happened? One person (mui) to get him out with one stick of butter. Not a bottle of water and a bottle of dish soap. I guess I will go buy the shop and play thing. There goes another $20. It was kind of traumatic. I did feel like crying but thought I was silly for thinking that. At the end another lady said to me, you were so calm!

Another day in the life...
